<p><b>Guidimaka</b> (<a href="Arabische_Sprache" title="Arabische Sprache">arabisch</a> <bdo dir="ltr"><bdi dir="rtl" lang="ar" class="arabic spanAr" style="unicode-bidi:isolate;font-size:120%;">ولاية غيديماغا</bdi></bdo>, <a href="DIN_31635" title="DIN 31635">DMG</a> <i><span lang="ar-Latn" style="font-style:italic">Wilāyat Ġīdīmāġā</span></i>) ist die südlichste <a href="Liste_der_Regionen_in_Mauretanien" title="Liste der Regionen in Mauretanien">Verwaltungsregion</a> des <a href="Westafrika" title="Westafrika">westafrikanischen</a> Landes <a href="Mauretanien" title="Mauretanien">Mauretanien</a>. Die Hauptstadt ist <a href="S%C3%A9libaby" title="Sélibaby">Sélibaby</a>.<sup id="cite_ref-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-1"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>1<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>

<p>Das Gebiet von Guidimaka liegt in der <a href="Sahelzone" title="Sahelzone">Sahelzone</a> im Süden Mauretaniens und hat seine Südspitze am Zusammenfluss der Grenzflüsse <a href="Senegal_(Fluss)" title="Senegal (Fluss)">Senegal</a> und <a href="Karakoro_(Fluss)" title="Karakoro (Fluss)">Karakoro</a>, die in der Schwemmlandebene des Senegal das <a href="Dreil%C3%A4ndereck" title="Dreiländereck">Dreiländereck</a> mit den Nachbarstaaten <a href="Grenze_zwischen_Mauretanien_und_Senegal" title="Grenze zwischen Mauretanien und Senegal">Senegal</a> und <a href="Grenze_zwischen_Mali_und_Mauretanien" title="Grenze zwischen Mali und Mauretanien">Mali</a> bilden. Die Verwaltungsregion hat eine Fläche von 10.818 km².<sup id="cite_ref-cpop_2-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-cpop-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup> Benachbarte Verwaltungsregionen sind im Uhrzeigersinn <a href="Gorgol" title="Gorgol">Gorgol</a> im Nordwesten und im Nordosten <a href="Assaba" title="Assaba">Assaba</a>.

<p>Die Bevölkerungszahl der Region hat in den Jahren 2000 bis 2023 von 177.707 auf 363.075 Einwohner zugenommen.<sup id="cite_ref-cpop_2-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-cpop-2"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>2<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>

<p>Guidimaka gliedert sich in vier <i>Moughataa</i> genannte Départements, benannt nach den jeweiligen Hauptstädten:

<p>Eine überparteiliche Vertretung der in diesem Teil Mauretaniens wohnenden Volksgruppe der <a href="Soninke" title="Soninke">Soninke</a> nahm die Untergliederung in Départements und Arrondissements zum Anlass für ein Memorandum. Darin dokumentiert sie namentlich im Vergleich mit den Verwaltungsregionen <a href="Inchiri" title="Inchiri">Inchiri</a> oder <a href="Trarza" title="Trarza">Trarza</a> die jahrzehntelange schon aus der Kolonialzeit herrührende Benachteiligung ihrer Heimatregion durch die staatlichen Instanzen bei der administrativen und kommunalen Gliederung, die sich auch in den Entscheidungen zur staatlichen Dezentralisierung von 2018 fortsetze, die über die Köpfe der Betroffenen hinweg ergangen seien. Solche Entscheidungen müssten vielmehr von einem „echten nationalen Konsens“ getragen werden, allein im Interesse der vorrangig betroffenen Bevölkerung.<sup id="cite_ref-5" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-5"><span class="cite-bracket">[</span>5<span class="cite-bracket">]</span></a></sup>
